Language: | German | Keyboard: | Keysonic ACK-3400U | Author: | Markus Buchgeister | Description: | Notes from author: I had to modify the layout as the 'Fn' and the '<>|' keys are not recognized (they yield no scan code). I mapped all additional characters usually accessed by function key 'Alt Gr'-combination to 'alt'-combinations. The '|' is now found with alt + ^, the "<" and ">" are with alt-' and shift-alt-`.
This Keysonic keyboard is very small, about twice the size of the PDA. I have tried other keyboards, too, even a regular PS/2 one via an USB/PS-2 adapter-cable and it was recognized by my FSC C550 PDA. I place an USB-hub inbetween which is powered to save the battery.
GeneralKeys EZ-2018 (availabel by www.Pearl.de, order No. PE3190) with nice slide out numeric pad and loop through of a second USB. It needs some stronger strokes to type on.
KL-668 by www.Conrad.de, order No. 956790, where the key for 2, 3 and | are wrong and has no numeric pad option, but is nice flat and easy to type on.
MS-Tech LT-300, a PS/2 keyboard which works with an extra USB adapter. It types inbetween the other two keyboards but has all numeric pad options as second keys with num lock. This has a 170 mA current stated on the lable whie the true USB keyboards just need 60 mA.
The keysonic is a very, very small keyboard, easy to carry, but not suited for 10 finger typing.
For all keyboards I needed to add the < and > and | to other keys (See on the photos) as this key is not recognized by the PDA obviously. All extra characters are accessed via the 'alt' key. | Updated: | April 2, 2007 | Downloads: | 1229 (file size 1568b) |
